Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Palette is FINALLY HERE! :D

Ok so I'm SUPER excited. Just got home and found a package on my bed :) If you've been reading my blog you know that I was expecting the item this week and it's finally here!

So basically I got the 88 Shimmer Palette. There are no matte colors in this one.

PROS:
- Love the packaging :)
- So many different shades!
- Reasonably priced

CONS
- Not a lot of product of a single color.
- Brushes that come with it aren't very good

OVERALL: I'd say it's a good buy if you're just starting out with makeup! Especially if you only wear it to parties and stuff like that the shimmer palette is great!

Here are some pictures for you guys to have a look at! Really beautiful colors! Umm the picture where all the shades are numbered, that's for anyone who would like me to swatch a particular color :)

I know that the pictures are super tiny but if you really want to have a good look at the colors then feel free to comment below if there is a particular number you would like me to swatch or if you would like me to send you the enlarged version of these pictures then I can do so but for that you'll have to send me a quick email :)

SO be sure to follow my blog because hopefully by this weekend I'll have a whole bunch of different tutorials and just some really nice neutral looks that you can get with this palette! And also I should have a review of this item up soon as well!

Thanks for reading! :)

FYI
I am not sponsored by Coastal Scents and I did pay for the palette with my own money.

Some upcoming stuff! xx

Ok so first of all I'd just like to thank the few of you viewing my blog! I know I'm new to do and there are much better/more experienced people out there. So thank you guys :)

So I'd just like to make this quick because it's 3:43am and I just can't seem to get to bed :P

HOPEFULLY I should receive my Coastal Scents 88 shimmer palette by tomorrow ... Or today :\ But later on in the day :P I'm super excited and cannot wait to get it! So, if any of you have any requests for any eye looks in particular then do let me know! Also, if you happen to have a picture of a particular look that you would like me to recreate you can email that to me or post the link as a comment to this post and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!

So even though I'm the one that supposed to be helping you guys out I was hoping to get some help with something that I just CANNOT seem to find! There's one thing that I've really been searching for, for a LONG time! And that is a decent liquid liner. I cannot seem to find a good, dark black liquid liner ANYWHERE! So if any of you have any suggestions do let me know :)

Also, I'm working on a review for the Jergens Natural Glow HEALTHY COMPLEXION Daily Facial Moisturizer. I know this product has been around for quiet a while now but as a new user I'd like to let you guys know what I think of it. So that should be up soon!

Just wanted to let you guys know that 90% of the products I use are drug store products. I've never really purchased anything from the MAC Cosmetics store - though I really want to try some things out! Anyway just an FYI here ... I will generally use drug store products but I do occasionally like to spend a bit extra on important items or things that I really do need. But I will try to keep most of the spending at a minimum :)

Well I better get to bed now ... It's getting pretty late and I gotta get up early tomorrow :\
Thanks again viewers! It's really encouraging to know that SOMEONE out there is reading my posts :)

xoxo

PS If you like the eye look that I've done in the picture that I have up in my blog let me know! I'd be happy to blog a tutorial

My foundation routine + Revlon ColorStay Review

Ok so this is going to be a kinda long-ish post but I just I thought I'd do my first review + foundation routine!

Whole routine in normal text
Review in Italics
Important points in bold
Special tips in yellow

ENJOY! :)

So before I do the review I just wanted to add in my sort of foundation routine. Or like how I would do my foundation. So as usual, you start off with a totally clean face; and I usually use the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap which comes in three different types and I use the Mild one which is for Normal to Dry Skin because I'm skin gets kinda oily but not too much either so yeah ... Ok so once I finish washing my face and it's totally dry I use a moisturizer or toner. Ok so here there are a couple different things you can use. These are some of the things that I use:
- Lancome Tonique Confort (Comforting Rehydrating Toner)
- Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer (The one for the face)
- Johnsons Baby lotion
- ANY moisturizer

There are so many options that you have out there so you just gotta pick one that you think is right for you!

Ok so after my I moisturize, I just wait for a minute or two, allowing the product to sit and kinda soak in and dry up a little bit because you don't want your face to be totally oily when you apply your makeup And after a bit I go in with my foundation.

____________________________________________________________________________

Ok so the foundation that's I'm currently using is the Revlon ColorStay Foundation and I'm in the color Toast. So here's my take on this product:

PROS:
- Not very expensive
- Full converage
- Very Blend able
- Full Coverage
- Didn't affect my skin in anyway whatsoever

CONS:
- I don't like the packaging :( A lot of product gets wasted because it comes in one of those screw cap bottles
- It tends to get a little sticky/ oily on my skin after a while. I don't know why this happens.
- Makes you look white in pictures

Ok so a little about this foundation and my experience:
I've ALWAYS had trouble when it comes to foundations and so I'm super picky when it comes to buying a new one. I've been using the ColorStay for quite a while now. It's almost over so I'm going to have to go out and get a new foundation but I'm not too sure if I wanna get this one again. After using this for almost like 9 months or so (I don't wear foundation everyday so that's why it kinda lasts me a long time) I know for a fact that I like it. The color I got was Toast and it's  shade that's slightly light for me and it makes me look super white and scary in pictures. But I guess that's just my fault for getting the wrong shade. BUT even though it's a tad lighter than my skin tone, I find that it's really blend able and I can really make it work one I buff it in and stuff. But I find after a while, like when I wear the foundation for a couple hours like 4 or more ... I feel like my face gets very oily and if I happened to touch my face, my fingers would feel kinda oily and sticky (even though I set it with a powder). On the whole I think it's a relatively good buy if you get your perfect skin color and if you're not planning on wearing it too long. Also, my skin did not breakout or anything like that when I used this foundation and it is a full coverage foundation and it does last long but I just feel it gets a little sticky after a while.

____________________________________________________________________________

So that is my review :) I haven't repurchased it because I feel like trying something new. I'm ALWAYS trying new foundations because I'm still in search for the one closest to my skin tone and one that is just perfect for me! I'm looking in to buying a Mac Studio Tech (the creamy compact one) or the MAC Studio Fix Fluid or the Coastal Scents Undercover HD one BUT I'm not sure yet. SO I know I have like only 5 views on this page, but even if you happen to skim through this post and you're reading this, do comment and let me know what you think of these foundations OR if you've used another foundation that you found was really great for you! Thanks :)

BACK TO THE ROUTINE :)

I apply it with a foundation brush or my finger even sometimes. I do not put foundation all the way down my neck but a really great tip which I learned from Blair Fowler (juicystar07) was if you're applying your foundation with your fingers, once you finish just use the little product that's one your fingers and gently rub it on to your neck just so the colors blend and it all looks one color. So I follow that hand tip of hers but I DO NOT take extra foundation and apply it all over my neck. Ok so after I apply my foundation I like to just buff it out. You can use a kabuki brush or just a nice fluffy powder brush to do this. This step just makes the foundation  blend a little more and a little better into your skin.

Once I buff out the foundation, again I just let it kinda sit on my face for a moment or two and then I gently brush on a light weight pressed powder to set the foundation. I use one that's my color but now you get the special finishing powders which are really great too. I know you get one at MAC and Revlon sells them too if you're not a big spender you could go for that one. But I just use a light-weight powder. Mine's the Revlon touch & glow moisturizing powder in the color Ivory Matte and this lasts really long! I mean I just got a new one. But the last one I had almost lasted me a year! Anyway I just apply this on top of the foundation very gently.

I've never really used much concealer. I've tried a clinique one which was good. I can't remember the name but it was one of those mini tube ones. Yeah, it was good. But I feel like if I use a full coverage foundation it's enough for my skin :) And that's just when I go out ... Most of the time I'll just throw on some of that Revlon pressed powder and I'm good to go :)

Ok so the LAST thing I do is apply some bronzer. I apply very little just on the apples' of my cheeks to give me a little more color and I use this Clinique one that I don't think you get it anymore but it's just like a loose powder and it's a shimmery bronze. I'll try to find the name of that and a replacement if I can ASAP and let you guys know!

So that's my foundation routine and keep reading if you would like to know about some exciting tips!

Ok so I really LOVE the whole dewy foundation look. Like I've been trying to get that look for SO long that it is absolutely unbelievable! I watched so many videos but I never really found anything that would really help me! Until recently I discovered a couple things (with the help of my ever so lovely youtube gurus of course) and I would like to share them with you guys:-

So the first thing you can do to get the glossy looking/dewy look it apply some shimmer. Now I just use a shimmery champagne-like color from one of my revlon eyeshadow quads which is called the Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow quads. I have 2 - One's called Copper Coast which has all these brown and gold like colors which would look great and give you a really nice shiny dewy look; and the other is called Moonlit Jewels and this one has a really nice pearl color (lightest color in the quad) that would also look super!

I also recommend using a Clarins Soft Cream Eye Colour and these come in little tubes. I have the color 06 which looks GREAT and gives me that perfect shine that I want BUT these are expensive so if you feel like you really want it then go ahead otherwise I strongly suggest the Revlon Quads :)

If you don't wanna use the eyeshadows you could use MAC's Pigment in the Color Mellon or the NARS Highlighting Powder in the color Albatross. But these are based on the good things that I have heard about these products from other gurus and I HAVE NOT tried these out my self. Although I will be getting the MAC Pigment soon and so I will do a review on that and let you guys know! But for now, these are just come recommendations that I'm telling you about BECAUSE people speak very highly about them :)

Ok so now you need to know WHERE to apply these shimmery products of course. So usually I would just apply this under my eyes, kinda like on my cheek bones and I bring it up on to my temples and then slightly above my eye brow. But if you want a super dewy look you can also apply it onto your t-zone and slightly down the middle of your nose along with a little in the cupid's bow of your lip just to make it all pop and look really highlighted and dewy! :D

MAKE SURE ONCE YOU'RE DONE APPLYING ALL THE SHIMMERY PRODUCTS YOU BLEND THEM WELL ! This is extremely important especially since you're working with shimmer as you most definitely DO NOT want to have any visible harsh lines OR have it look over the top. So buffing it with a kabuki brush will just blend it in a little nicer and keep it looking shiny and dewy!

Ok so another thing you could do is apply a mist. Again I have NOT tried out these products. But a friend of mine got the Scott Barnes Luminizing Mist and her skin looked ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! So definitely check that out. Also you could try the MAC Fix+ which LOADS of people talk about as being an absolutely fab product. But again I have NOT tried this out myself though I will be getting this soon and hopefully then I'll be able to do a review on it and share my thoughts with your guys :)

Ok so WITH THAT SAID my first ever foundation routine &review post comes to an end :)

Thank you for visiting my blog! Do comment and let me know what you think! Also PLEASE give me any advice you have on how I can improve in any way. I know this was WAY to long but I just kinda wanted to get everything out there! So yeah ... Thanks again! Also please feel free to let me know what you think the best foundation is so accordingly I can make a decision and hopefully get a step closer to finding the perfect foundation!

FYI I purchased all of the products mentioned in the post with my own money. None of these items were given to me for free nor am I being sponsored to do this post for any of the companies.

Thanks again :)

Take care &Bye for now!

Coming soon! - Coastal Scents Haul & Review! :D

I don't think I've EVER been so excited to get an email before! Just about a couple minutes ago I got an email from my eBay shipper telling me he had just shipped off my Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Palette and it should reach me with in the next 10 days! AHH! I'm super excited and I cannot WAIT to try it out!

I've wanted this palette for a while now but I don't have a credit card and my parents would never agree to the idea of ordering makeup online. However, I do have a debit card. Which this eBay shipper happened to accept! To those of you out there who are thinking about all the totally fake products available on eBay, this guy was a totally reliable and respectable seller and was know for being one of the few to sell these rare and authentic products.

I realize owning one product from Coastal Scents doesn't make it that much of a haul but what the hell :P
I am so excited and will most definitely be doing a review of the palette along with a couple other posts that I have not seen out there that might help you guys out ... But more on that later! I will also be doing a review of the 88 shimmer palette after using it for a week or longer.

I recently got my first pay check and the Coastal Scents palette costs quiet a bit since I don't live in the US and therefore it has taken a large chunk out of my spending money - I hope it's totally worth it! But after all the talk of the town and the ranting and raving of this product by some of the biggest names of youtube, I have no doubt it's going to be a great buy!

Till next time ... xox

BrownEyedGirlxox21

Hello to all you makeup lovers!

Hey everyone!

Browneyedgirlxox21 here ... Yes, I do realize that's a mouthful! But what can I say? I couldn't think of anything better and I didn't want to wait another day to get this up!

I'm your average teenage girl with a passion for makeup! I know, you've seen tons of girls with the same passion :P But for me it's honestly NOT an obsession. Although I consider myself a beginner handling cosmetics, I've learnt that the internet and sites like youtube and blogs of course can be a big help to all of us :)

And so I decided to get this blog started. It's just a great place where I can post stuff that I learnt from other bloggers/youtubers and even stuff that I discover on my own (which lately, there have been a few things!) I would just really like to share all my thoughts and if I can, help you guys out in any way that I can!

The reason behind this blog: I really enjoy reading/watching others talk about makeup and I wanted to do the same. Only for me, a youtube channel was out of the question. You see, I live amongst a certain type of society where videos of me doing makeup would mean social suicide. I've had enough drama in the past, we all have. So I decided a blog would be the best idea!

I'll start off by just adding a few posts about some interesting makeup tips and ideas and if you guys have ANY queries, questions or ideas for blogs that I can do you can send me an email @browneyedgirlxox21@hotmail.com and I will try my very best to get back to you as soon as possible!

Do remember that this blog is not limited to just makeup. I'll also enjoy talking to your girls/guys about anything you like! Remember I'm a teenager too so as the phrase goes - "Been there, done that" and also "Been through that" so if you feel like you want to talk to me about something. ANYTHING. Please don't hesitate to email me :)

Except if you're going to ask for my identity :P Hate to make this a cliche but that's something I'll probably never reveal. Unfortunately *sigh*
